The Challenge
The Association of Test Publishers (ATP) is a non-profit organization representing providers of tests and assessment tools and/or services related to education, employment, certification/licensing or clinical uses.
ATP began planning for their first member conference in 1999. They approached Designing Events for strategy, planning and outsourcing many of the strategic activities that normally would require additional staff.
How We Helped
Designing Events created a multi-year plan to grow ATP's annual conference. Though we started small, we always planned ahead for BIG. Today, we continue to play a very active role. In addition to overall management responsibility, we facilitate the work of all volunteer conference committees.
The Results
At that first conference, ATP had 125 attendees and eight sponsors. Today,
the association has capped their attendance at 700 attendees and has
approximately 40 sponsors. The conference is now one of the main revenue
generators for the association.
