Use
the Internet to Promote Your Meetings
The Internet is a powerful tool that is changing
the way that meeting planners are attracting
attendees to their conferences and events. Even
though your meeting may be by invitation only,
does not mean that you can’t still use the
Internet to help promote it and increase
attendance. Below are some ways that the
Internet can help you promote your next meeting.
Get the Word Out Early - The sooner that
your attendees know about your meeting the
better. Send out a “save the date” email
announcement well in advance of your meeting
date, even if you don’t have all of the
logistical information complete.
Keep Everyone Informed - As more
information is known about the meeting, send out
additional updates and reminders about your
meeting. You may also want to create a page on
your website about the meeting where invitees
can go to get more information.
Be Visual - As the old saying goes –
pictures speak louder than words. Include images
of the meeting location, the local area or past
meetings to entice others to attend.
Make Registering Easy – Develop an online
registration system. If possible, have the
attendee make their travel arrangements at the
same time as they register. This will not only
make registering easier for you attendees, but
will make you job much easier too!
Get Feedback – Create an online survey
that attendees can take after the conference.
This is great way to get feedback and learn how
you can improve your meetings.
