Update
In July we examined the Western Hemisphere
Travel Initiative (or WHTI referred to as “Wheaty”)
in the article, Will New Federal Regulations
Restrict Your Site Choices? – a new effort that
requires all travelers entering or exiting the
U.S. from the Caribbean, Bermuda, Panama, Mexico
and Canada to have a valid passport or other
secure travel documentation. According to a
press release issued by the Department of
Homeland Security on August 11th, 2006 the date
of implementation has been pushed back to
January 8, 2007.
